BR. PATRICIO CHACÓN, O. PRAEM.

Presenter

Br. Patricio Chacón, O. Praem. is a member of the Norbertine Community of Santa Maria de la vid Abbey in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Albuquerque, but grew up in a small town in Northern New Mexico named Capulín, which is about 30 miles west of Abiquiu. He was raised with his three brothers and one sister. He is a full-time student at the University of New Mexico as a Philosophy and Religious Studies major. Patricio really enjoys music, camping and spending time outdoors. But, even more so, he enjoys spending time with his brothers in Community, family, friends, and with his dog, Sol.

What does holiness mean to you?

When I think of holiness, or what it means to be holy, I can only think of dignity. More specifically the dignity that each and every one of us has because we were created by God. I think holiness is the call to recognize every person’s dignity and to love that person. Ultimately, holiness is a deeper call to seek God and grow closer to him through the Sacraments, friends, family, and everyone we encounter daily.

Be a Volunteer for SANCTUS2020!

SANCTUS2020 will be a full-scale quality youth conference and retreat held at The Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. It will be a dynamic experience of prayer, testimonies and talks, activities, fellowship and mentorship. It is our hope that it will be of the caliber of many national conferences, but with the care and attentiveness that those committed to our region and local Church can offer.

Volunteers are critical to bringing the vision of the conference to life! Thank you for whatever time and commitment you can give. Please complete the form to the best of your ability and we will be in touch to connect you to the opportunity to serve as you see fit!

Our hope for SANCTUS is to offer the young people of our Church an opportunity to explore the meaning and purpose of a Christian life by encountering the universal call to holiness.

Throughout the gathering, there are intentional times of:

  • Liturgical Prayer

  • Formation

  • Fellowship

The plenary sessions lead participants through an encounter with God, the self, the sacraments, the Communion of Saints, the Church, and vocation, and the beauty of living a fully-Christian life.

Breakout sessions focus on the call to holiness in the lives of:

  • Those preparing to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation

  • Those who are confirmed and are striving to grow in discipleship

  • Those wanting to explore particular areas of vocation, mission, and call
